Octavio
Octavio was dealt a bad hand in the game of life. This boy came to our group after his owner was incarcerated, resulting in the police turning him over to animal control. Through no fault of his own, this gentle giant found himself homeless and scared. He was transported to us from Central California and our vet corrected his "cherry eye". The first surgery didn't work, so he had to undergo the surgery again. He became a totally different dog after he was able to see. Almost as if he got his youth back. Then, his foster Mommy noticed he was losing weight and had a bump on his belly. She rushed him to the vet and Octavio was diagnosed with cancer. The cancer had spread throughout his liver and his chances were next to none. We decided to let Octavio go graciously at the vet's office. Although Octavio never got his chance to find his forever home, he died surrounded by the only people who truely loved him, our volunteers.
We'll miss you, Octavio.

Early one evening happened to be the day, that God called my name and took me away. God said he needed me, that I had work to do, being an angel doggie to watch over you. I have little wings now and can fly so high, I am with you always, so please dont cry. The cuddles and kisses, the time spent with you, each moment was special, and I miss them too. Never too busy for me, you were always there, scratching my head and brushing my hair. I'll miss my porch, my friends, and my window seat too, but most of all, I'll surely miss you. One day, like me, you will arrive in this place, where you will see my wings and my smiling face. At the Rainbow Bridge in heaven above, I am waiting to greet you, I am watching with love.

Honoring our Rescues that are waiting
at the edge of Rainbow Bridge for us.

Please spend some time here with our memories of our recues who have crossed the Rainbow Bridge. Each name will take you to a memorial page devoted to that dog with pictures, and a tribute to the way they touched our lives.
