BlackJack
Our volunteer in Las Vegas saw this beautiful American Bulldog with the most soulful eyes sitting at a very high kill animal shelter. She couldn't let the dog we called BlackJack down so made sure he was saved from the shelter. Our other volunteers made the trip out to get him. Brought him home and him cleaned up. They showed him the love he never had. His spirit and his kind soul touched all of our hearts. There was just something special about this big bulldog! Unfortunately, fate wasn't on his side and shortly after arriving to us he bloated. He was rushed the hospital fighting a severe case of bloat. He successfully made it through the bloat surgery and was scheduled to go into a foster home where he would have his own bed and be hand fed small meals while he recuperated. Unfortunately, he took a turn for the worse and it appeared that peritonitis had set in and his abdomen had become infected. He couldn't survive. Blackjack crossed the bridge peacefully in the arms of a volunteer and of our loving vet, Dr. Martin. Everyone in our group and everyone at the vet hospital was touched by BlackJack in the short time we knew him. He was able to be in peace knowing that there were lots of people who loved him and he wasn't alone. We know he is romping at the Rainbow Bridge waiting for us!!!

BlackJack, we miss you.
