  About Operation K9 Rescue
Operation K9 Rescue is a non-profit rescue organization whose objective is to rescue, rehabilitate and find forever homes for the abused, neglected and abandoned American Bulldogs, Rare Mastiffs and Bull breeds. We aim to educate the public and dog owners as to the care, training, and requirements of owning one of these breeds. As the only Tosa (Japanese Mastiff) rescue in the United States and one of only a handful of American Bulldog rescues on the West Coast, we take pride in finding loving forever homes for the dogs in our program. Established in 2001, we have we have rescued and found homes for more than one hundred dogs with volunteer and community support (please see our Success Stories page).

Operation K9 Rescue steps in and helps the Bull breeds and Rare Mastiffs who need our help, regardless of their age or health. With the help of those who have been touched by our dogs' hardships, we have raised thousands in donations to help provide veterinary care, surgeries and care for some very sick dogs that have been abandoned. Our volunteers and fosters are educated on the breeds we service and work with the dogs to train, socialize and provide basic needs to these dogs that have been displaced, by no fault of their own. The work we do in advance of placement, including medical care, training, temperament evaluation with other companion animals and varying family lifestyles, ensures that the dogs we rescue are matched with the best home. We also work at educating the community and potential adoptive families about the American Bulldogs and Rare Mastiffs, to ensure that the characteristics of these breeds are fully understood before potential owners make a lifelong commitment to the dogs we rescue.

Operation K9 Rescue recognizes the importance of working together with others in the rescue community to help us achieve our goals. We are proud to have built relationships with local animal shelters, as well as Villalobos Rescue Group, The Bulldog Club of America, Pacific Coast Bulldog Club, Rancho Coastal Humane Society, Greater San Diego Bulldog Club, and other rescue groups throughout the United States and Canada.

Operation K9 Rescue, Inc. would like to thank every one of our volunteers, veterinarians, kennel staff, trainers, adopters and donors for all of your great support. It's because of you that we are able to continue saving lives and bringing people together with these breeds.
